Athlete

My journey to journalism has been unique to say the least. Long before my collegiate athletic career came to an end I knew my impact on this world would be defined by my ability to effectively  communicate with others. Through the years, outside of sports, a microphone is the only other place I’ve felt comfortable being my true self. Uplifting others is something that I not only try to practice in my everyday life, but also in the stories I cover as journalist. Thus far in my journey I believe I’ve done an exception job practicing this habit one story at a time. Whether I’m commentating women’s basketball or discovering the historical grounds of Eatonville, Florida, I will always aim to bring light to a dark place. The “light” could be bringing attention to Orlando’s rich African American History. It could be telling the story of the athlete who didn’t quite make it to the pros. There will always be forgotten hidden factors in world, that await to be found. As I not only continue to grow as person, but a journalist, I hope to provide the necessarily light to these forgotten “dark” places. For more be sure to subscribe here
